In loving memory ~
We profoundly regret to announce the passing of Gloria Hilderman, our dear mother, grandmother, sister & best friend, 19 days before her 82nd birthday. Mom was born in Lestock, SK & was predeceased by her parents John & Anne Urbanoski. She leaves to mourn her loss, son Shane Hilderman (Olga), daughter Shannon Koepke, grandsons Kyle Koepke (Shyann), Ryan Koepke (Emily), sister Grace Horn (Sask.), brother Ben Urban (California), extended family members, friends & her beloved Mascot Buddy, Gainer.
Mom worked with various telephone companies in Sask., AB & B.C. After her retirement, mom was an avid volunteer with Red Cross, Salvation Army & ESS.
She was a truly loving, caring person, always helping anyone in need & refused any pay back whatsoever. (Many tried but she would never accept.)
Mom's cooking skills were much to be desired. She loved to cook for all special family gatherings, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Birthdays & Special sports events - always cooking too much so that everyone could take home leftovers.
Mom loved watching Football & Baseball. Her favourite teams were Sask. Roughriders & Toronto Blue Jays. Gainer was always at her side during Roughriders games. She & Shane would watch all those games together.
Mom also loved her puzzles, she would put her puzzle board on the dining room table & would finish a 1000 piece puzzle within 2-3 days - that's how good she was. Mom also enjoyed her daily long walks where she would stop & talk to people along the way. Always a `Huge' Elvis fan, mom was in her glory whenever she was gifted `anything Elvis' - especially calendars, so that she could see him every day.
Mom was a very strong, independent, vocal person - true to her own words. Her acceptance of people & generous kindness will live in the hearts of all who knew her. Mom's heart was bottomless! She considered herself to have lived a Good & Happy life.
Mom, you are free & we hope you are happy wherever you are. You left us on your own terms & did it "your way".
May GOD grant you restful peace among the saints on a safe journey home. Memories of you will live on in our hearts forever & you will be greatly missed by all.
We would like to thank all VJH staff for their kind, compassionate care. Most importantly, extreme gratitude to Dr. Deetlefs for going above & beyond in looking after mom's needs. May GOD bless you all!
Rest in peace mom. We love you! Eternal memories...
As per mom's own wishes, no celebration of life will be held; however, she said we could have a private party sometime later.
