Gord Collinson

April 9, 1944 - May 23, 2023
1944-2023 ~ Gord was born in Haddington, Scotland on April 9, 1944 to Stan and Marjorie Collinson. After the passing of his father, Gord immigrated with his mum to her home country of Canada with his sister Helen (Barrie). They joined Gord's other sisters Doreen (Eric) and Gwen (Ken) in Toronto where they started their new journey.
He married the love of his life and his best friend Mary (nee Crichton) in 1966, raising two great kids, Janine (Derek) and Ian.
After living their early married years in Ontario they ventured west and fell in love with Vernon, BC. Gord and Mary shared a love for the outdoors and adventure. These passions took them all over the world; hiking, biking, camping, skiing and quenching their thirst for travel.
Everyone was drawn to Gord's sense of humour, quick wit, storytelling and ability to find fun in every situation. Gord was the life of the party at any gathering. He was up for any game, whether it be cards, bocce, darts and all sports including horseback riding and rugby.
He was a loving, caring, and compassionate Grandad to Reid, Avery, Kieran, Aidan and Connor. He attended every event and was proud to be their biggest fan.
Gord was the ultimate family man who loved and was loved by his extended family and friends worldwide. The void left by his passing will forever be filled by the memories he created for all he met.
A celebration of life will be held June 28th at Paddlewheel Hall 7813 Okanagan Landing Rd, Vernon V1H 1H2 from 1:30-4:30.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
