We regretfully announce the passing of Gordon Charles Niehaus at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Monday, March 8, 2010.
Gordon will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his three sons Darryl (Rhonda), Dean and Drew; grandchildren Niki and Brianna; extended family Kristen and Jamie; sister Sandra (Fred) Massey; niece Joellyn (Chris) Kennedy, nephew Richard and many friends.
Gordon was predeceased by his wife, of eight years (and high school sweetheart) Lynn on February 7, 2010, and his parents Joseph and Esther.
Gordon was born March 22, 1939 in Edmonton, Alberta, The family moved to Creston and then on to Nelson, BC where Gord graduated Valedictorian in 1956. Thru high school and after grad he had a Jazz band and a Big Band. He travelled Canada coast to coast working with CIBC & IAC Finance. In 1972 he moved his family to Kamloops to start a new career in home sales. He was active in the Gyro Club. 1984 brought him to the North Okanagan where he developed many businesses. Throughout Gord’s life he was an active outdoorsman; skiing, fishing, and exploring the back country. In 2001, he renewed his love of hot rodding and acquired a Black 1951 Mercury Resto-Rod which he proudly entered in many Show-And-Shine and Rod-Run events.
