Sadly, Guenter passed away on March 9th, 2018 after a year's struggle with congestive heart failure. Guenter was born in Schlossberg, Germany as the 8th child of 13 to Albert & Charlotte Thiel. There were 6 boys and 7 girls.
Guenter came to Canada in 1954 and worked for Highway's Public Works for 28 years. He enjoyed tennis, badminton, canoeing, camping trips and playing card games with family and friends.
Guenter will be lovingly remembered by his wife; Mabel, his son; Norman, his daughters; Beverley, Michelle (Garth) and Erika (Sheldon), his 6 grandchildren; Haley, Liam, Brennen, Megan, Elijah and Noah along with numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters in Germany.
A Graveside Service preceded a Celebration of Guenter's Life which will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Len Mittelstaedt officiating. A Reception will follow in the Faith Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their kindness and care.
