May 30, 1939 - November 18, 2018
With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Harold (Bucky) Bucsis on November 18, 2018 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Born May 30, 1939 to Julius and Mary (Andre) Bucsis in Melville Saskatchewan and raised in nearby Waldron. Harold moved to Kelowna B.C. and completed high school. Whilst in Kelowna he met and married the love of his life, Eileen Burke, with whom he would have 7 children and 58 years of marriage. Upon graduating he worked at B.N.S. 11 years in total at Kelowna, Vernon, and ending this career as manager at the Lumby Branch. He then moved on to many successful years with John Deere Agent Capitol Tractor which eventually became Brandt.
Growing up he enjoyed playing pool with his school friends and later fishing, curling, especially the "Bonspiels." He was an avid collector and spent many hours searching garage sales. He found much solace in gardening. He had many beautiful flowers and grew a bounty of fruits and vegetables. He loved to putter around in his garden and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by wife Eileen, sons Terry, Gerald (Gail), Glen and Greg (Stephanie), daughters Diane, Debra (Dieter) and Shelley (Gary), 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as his sister, Lorraine Dawson, sister-in-law, Viola Bucsis (Bittner), extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by parents, Julius and Mary, brothers, Bill and Ray, brother-in-law, Lloyd Dawson and sister-in-law, Anne Bucsis (Hammond).
The family wishes to extend their appreciation and deepest gratitude to V.J.H. staff on floors 3 West/ East and Polson Tower 7. To Dr. Dyck, thank you for your compassion and exceptional care.
In respecting Harold's wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
