Harold Flindt

August 30, 1933 - July 11, 2019
On July 11th, 2019, with family by his side, Harold passed away peacefully at Polson Care Residence in Vernon, B.C. Harold was born on August 30th, 1933 in Waterhen, Manitoba. In 1948 he moved with his family to northern B.C. before eventually settling in Armstrong. He married Alma Summerfelt in 1960 and they made their home in Lumby, having two children, Bonnie and Daryl.
Harold loved horses and living on the prairie. He always felt "boxed in" by the mountains. He could often be found under the hood of one of his vehicles doing his own mechanic work. Harold operated many types of heavy equipment, most often gravel truck or backhoe. He later drove school bus before retiring in 1989.
Harold was predeceased by his wife Alma on June 7th, 2019 and is survived by his children, Bonnie (Nolan) Fretz and Daryl (Cindy) Flindt; two grandchildren, Megan and Zachary; his sister, Ruth Sanjenko; as well as nieces and nephews.
We, Harold's family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the staff at Polson Care Residence. During his final years, Harold received such loving and compassionate care from you.
A Celebration of Harold's Life will be held at the O.A.P. Hall in Lumby on Sunday, August 18th, 2019 at 2 pm.
