Harold (Hal) Green

Hal passed away on March 23, 2009 at the Hospice House in Vernon. He was born in Vancouver on July 31, 1932. Hal was predeceased by his sisters Doris and Doreen, his brother-in-law and best friend Harry Bellamy. He is survived by his brother Doug, his niece Dawn (Clint) and his nephew Gary Green. Hal was blessed by spending the last few years with his wife Jan who made their time together the happiest of Hal’s life.

Hal attended Mount Pleasant Elementary, Templeton Junior High, King Edward High and UBC. He was a member of the Alberta and BC Institutes of Chartered Accountants and practiced his professional primarily in Calgary and Vancouver.

Hal was a sports enthusiast and one of his passions was golf. He was a past member of Silver Springs Golf Club in Calgary, Marine Drive Golf Club in Vancouver and, most recently, was a member of the Vernon Golf and Country Club.

Hal was also an avid fisherman and participated in many salmon fishing trips with his best friends Harry Bellamy and Bruce Shantz. There were many stories about the one that got away.

A tea will be held at the Old Age Pensioners Hall in Lumby on Friday, April 3 at 1:00 p.m.
