Harold “H” Walter McKay

February 20th, 1929 – January 19th, 2011

The family of Harold McKay is deeply saddened to announce his passing at Noric House in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 81 years.

Harold will be lovingly remembered by his wife; Audrey, to whom he was married for 57 years, his children; Trudy (John) Minor, Neil (Muriel) McKay, Shauna (Calvin) Hill, Ian (Angie) McKay, his grandchildren; Trevor (Maria) Blunt, Tricia (Chris) Blunt, Alex Minor, Kelsey McKay, Geoffrey McKay, Nicole McKay, Meghan (Brad) Ell, Brandyn Boryskiewich, Cameron McKay, Matthew McKay, Chad McKay and Ryan McKay, six great-grandchildren, two brothers; Lyle Mckay and Glen McKay, one sister; Donna (Bob) Gordon as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; Walter and Pauline McKay and by his two sisters; Viola and Gerry.

Harold’s passions included his family, hockey and cars. Harold belonged to many service organizations throughout his life and he loved to “plan” the events!! He was also an Alderman of the City of Grande Prairie.

Cremation preceded a Celebration of Harold’s Life which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Canon Chris Harwood Jones officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel.

As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Harold to their local Salvation Army.
