January 20, 2006 peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Born in Vernon, B.C., August 30, 1913. Lovingly remembered by his wife Kitty and by his children: Harold (Mary), Richard (Gail), Mary Hatten (Allen) and Helen as well as by his step children: Melanie Christien, Linda Hatten, Laurie French and their families. Also, by his grandchildren; Elizabeth, Wayne, Bradley, Sam, Sara, Keith, Jenny, Susan and Katie, as well as 12 great grandchildren. Russ proudly served in 442 Spitfire Squadron of the RCAF during WWII, seeing action in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He had a long and rewarding career with B.C. Hydro and was an active member of the Power Pioneers. Russ was also proud of his Vernon roots and was an enthusiastic member of Vernon’s “Friends of History” A special thank you to Dr. Steward and the nursing staff of “3 East” No service by request.
