Hazel Irene Smithman passed away at Polson Multilevel, on Tuesday June 3, 2003, at the age of 80 years. Born at Esquimalt B.C. on December 10, 1922 and lived on the lower mainland for a lot of her life. She served with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces during World War 2. Hazel loved outdoors and fishing, gardening, was a passion. She was a member of Sapperton Fish and Game, Armstrong Fish and Game, Bowling League, and square dancing. Hazel was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley, in 1994 and by her brothers and sisters. She leaves her sons, Allen, Fort St. John, B.C., Chuck (Sandra), Maple Ridge, daughters, Irene Ebanks, Vernon, Shirley Clark (Don), Agassiz, Peg Bellamy (Paul), Vernon, B.C.; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, extended family and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, June 8, 2003 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 35 in Armstrong, B.C. Reverend Ken Jones officiating. Cremation. Interment of cremated remains will be in Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Hazel to Polson Multilevel.
