Hazel Wyness

It is with sadness that we announce that

Hazel passed away peacefully and surrounded by love at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong.

Hazel was born in Daysland, Alberta in a

private house with a midwife attending. She was raised on the farm and a love of the land stayed with her for her entire life. Hazel loved to be outdoors, she always had a beautiful garden full of vegetables and her beloved

flowers. In later years, she enjoyed the Seniors Complex in Enderby, playing cards and


Hazel was predeceased by her son Donald in 1954 and her husband Carl in 1994. She is survived by four children: Jim (Marie) Stordahl at Mara, Jinty Steele at Penticton, Rosalie (Gerry) Almaas at Enderby and Peggy Collins at Vernon. She is further survived by her twin sister Barbara Stauffer at Enderby and three sisters-in-law, Ruth Sepka at Sicamous, Shirley Anderson at Peace River, Alberta and Doris Stordahl at Camrose, Alberta. There are 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. In respecting her wishes, Hazel was cremated and a private family spreading of her ashes will occur at a later date. Anyone wishing to make donations in memory of Hazel may do so to the Enderby Seniors Complex.
