December 12, 1927 - August 22, 2018
Our family wishes to express our sorrow for the loss of our wonderful father and grandfather (Opa). Heinz passed away peacefully on August 22, 2018 at the age of 90 years with his daughters by his side.

Heinz was born in Bremen, Germany in 1927 to Harry Jahnke and Caroline Marie Hansen. Heinz moved to Vancouver in his early 20s' but soon realized the beauty of the Okanagan moving to Vernon, and then to Penticton which he called home for the last 60 years.

Heinz was predeceased by his loving wife Frieda in 2014. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters and sons in law Sandra (Kegan), Susan (Dave), Lina (Brian) and his grandchildren Brock, Jacob, Tristan, Paul and Theresa. Heinz will also be dearly remembered by Quin and Riley.

As proud as he was of his professional and entrepreneurial accomplishments, those achievements paled in comparison to the pride and joy he felt as a devoted husband, father and grandfather (Opa). He was always ready with a captivating story to tell, even if you heard it a hundred times before. Heinz will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to have been graced by his love.

The family wishes to thank his Doctors' and the nurses of Moog and Friends Hospice for their compassionate care.

As per his request the family will honour Heinz's life at a private gathering.
