Helen Anne Epp

was born on July 7th, 1929 at Beechy, Saskatchewan and was called Home to be with her Lord on September 16th, 2009 at Vernon, B.C. at the age of 80 years after a very brief battle with cancer.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jake, to whom she was married for 28 years; her daughter, Jacqueline (Jerry) Petrunia of Ladner, B.C.; her son, Dennis Epp of Swift Current, Saskatchewan; seven grandchildren, Shayann, Jordan, Eldon, Terry, Jolene, Jeffrey and Jeremy; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, George Block of Pincher Creek, Alberta, Henry Block of Milk River, Alberta and Albert Block of Lethbridge, Alberta; four sisters, Anne Tacholsky of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Marion (Robert) Andres of Sparwood, B.C., Selma (Henry) Reimer and Adeline, all of Herbert, Saskatchewan; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Jacob Andres; one brother, Jacob; and three sisters, Tina Block, Sarah Block and Susie Wiens.

In Helen’s younger years she loved to play games and throughout her entire life she had a warm and loving personality which drew others to her. She had an incredible sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her hobbies included liquid embroidery and spending hours working on crossword puzzles. Gramma was a very loving and patient mother and grandmother. Helen had the gift of hospitality and was always willing to have others into her home and no one ever left hungry as she was always cooking fabulous meals for family and friends alike. Helen was very active in the church all her life and she loved to sing all the old gospel hymns.

Those wishing to pay their last respects to Helen may do so at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 21st, 2009 from 7:00-8:00 P.M. A Graveside Service will take place at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. followed by a Celebration Of Helen’s Life at Grace Bible Church, 5661 Silver Star Road, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Woelke officiating.
