MRS. HELEN BRACKEN passed away in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Friday, April 15th, 2005 at the age of 84 years. She had been in poor health for some time. Helen was born on May 7th, 1920 in Lamont, Alberta and most of her life was spent in Saskatchewan and Alberta before retiring to Vernon where she spent the past 22 years. She is survived by her loving husband Dal, to whom she was married for 62 years, her son, Gregory of Calgary, Alberta, her daughter, Helen Donald of Australia, two grandchildren, Katrina and Quinton, three great-grandchildren, all of Australia, two brothers; William (Ursula) Skrepnyk of Kelowna, B.C. and Alex (Martha) Skrepnyk of Edmonton, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Helen’s life was her home where she loved cooking and her hobby of needle-point which she pursued with a passion. She will be sorrowfully missed by her family and long remembered by her many friends. May she now rest in peace in Heaven, free from all the pain she endured during her life. The Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 20th, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Allan Dawe officiating. Cremation will follow. A Reception will take place in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel at the conclusion of the Service.
