With great sadness, the family of Helen Bryson Peters announce her falling asleep in Christ on August 22, 2006. Helen was born in Vernon on
November 19, 1926 to Bryson and Katherine Whyte, and with the exception of 12 years on Vancouver Island, lived all of her life in Vernon and Okanagan Landing. Left to grieve and cherish her memory are her husband of 58 years, William Roy; son Ken (Patti) and daughter Stacey (David) Zantingh, all of Vernon. Helen was an awesome Gramma and will be deeply missed by Sharina, Heather (Angelo), Leah (Matt), Bryson, Brooke, Natalie and Steven. Her great grandchildren, Paige, Ryder, and Haylee, were so adored by her and they provided her with great joy. Helen was a great thinker and problem solver, and also enjoyed traveling. As a couple, Helen and Roy logged many hours driving the continent, as well as journeys to Europe, the Middle East, South Pacific and New Zealand. She realized years ago that the Bible held the answers to life and she lived her life in 100% conviction of God’s Truth and the soon return of His Son to this earth. She now sleeps peacefully, waiting for Christ’s return and the coming Kingdom on this earth. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. again at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Mr. Brian Bartholomew officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Tea Room.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
