Helen Goertzen was born on January 24th, 1918 in Vegreville, Alberta. She passed away peacefully at Carrington Place in Vernon, B.C. on September 5th, 2007. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Frank Goertzen of Vernon, B.C., children: Eileen (Dennis) Carlson of Theodore, Saskatchewan, Doreen (Gordon) Gillespie of Vernon, B.C., David (Yvonne) Crook of Tantallon, Nova Scotia, Don Crook of Whistler, B.C., Tom (Linda) Crook of Aldergrove, B.C., step daughters, Diane (Gordie) of Winfield, B.C., Brenda (Al) Hardy of Logan Lake, B.C., five sisters-in-law, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Anna Lorenson, siblings: Willard, Ada, Edward, Margaret, Fred, George, Ralph and Helen’s twin, Harold; grandson, Laun Gillespie and husbands, Stephen Pankin and William Crook.
Helen was a great gardener of vegetables and flowers and a lover of people and nature. Hospitality was her specialty. She was a faithful member and worker in the Seventh-day Adventist Church all her life.
A Graveside Service was held September 7th, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at Pleasant Valley Cemetery and a Memorial Service to celebrate Helen’s life was held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church on September 8th, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Lee Patterson assisted by Pastor Edward Teranski officiated.
