Henry Richard (“Harry”) Daniels passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Vernon on October 5,
2006, surrounded by his family,
following a long and courageous
battle with cancer.
Harry was born and raised in Summerland, and then spent a long career with the C.P.R., working out of Cranbrook for 40 years as a locomotive engineer. He retired to Vernon in 1992.
Harry will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Stephanie; six children: Georgia (Rick), Robert (Sonja), Shelley (Chris),
Michael, Andrea (Brent), and Karla (Darren). He was predeceased by his youngest son, Hugh, in 2003. Harry was blessed with grandchildren: Brett, Robert, Connor, Brendan, Craig, Amber, Jade, Alix and Cloe as well as two great-grandchildren, Owl & Kai. He is also survived by sisters: Gladys, Peggy, Sheila, Joan, Pat, Terry and Frances, and by their families.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 4 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Sean Wong officiating. A reception will follow in the tea room. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in his memory to Hospice House, 3506 – 27 Avenue, Vernon, V1T 1S4.
