Henry Dave Howe
“If you don’t believe in angels you never met our Grandpa”
It is with deepest sadness and heavy heart that we, the loving family of Dave Howe announced his passing.
After serving with the PPCLI in the Korean War, Dave worked for Cominco in Kimberley until his retirement in 1988. His passions were fishing, hunting, curling, golfing and travel. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and various other clubs and organizations.
Dave was born in Saskatoon, Sk., on August 17, 1931, and passed away September 16 2009 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital at age 78 years.
Dave was predeceased by his son James Henry. He is survived and cherished by his loving companion and best friend of 11 years, Sylvia Stier. Dave is also survived by son Gordon (Ev) Howe, grandchildren Jade (Jeb), Yvonne and Katherine; son Bruce (Colleen) Howe, grandchildren Sarah (Joe) and Troy (Erika); daughter-in-law Ni Howe, grandchildren Korey and Morgan. In recent years Dave was also blessed and welcomed five great-grandchildren into his growing family circle ~ Tanner, Isaac, Rylan, Capreese and Ethan, numerous family and extended family members, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
A Service of Rememberance was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Armstrong, at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Lung Association.
