Herman “Happy”. Born October 2, 1936, died peacefully at home after a valiant struggle with cancer on June 5, 2004. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Bea “Speedy”; his sons Wim (Donna), Fred (Liana), Henk (Denise), Marc (Denise) and nine grandchildren; Kody, Sara, Derrik, Shelby, Meghan, Jenna, Chalagne, Marty and Dustin. Also survived by his brother Wied (Maria); sisters, Netty (Piet), Marian (Henk), Mieke (Bernard); and sister-in-law Diane. Predeceased by his baby grandson Ryan, his son Marty, his brother Wim and his parents in Holland. Herman started Bonanza Meat Packers in 1977 with his wife Bea and good friend Ernie Penninga. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and Opa. He was an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him. His courage, his hugs, his smiles and his tremendous drive will always be embedded in our minds. Special thanks to Maria, Wied and Mieke, and wonderful friend Betty, who were with him and made it possible to remain at home until his death. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 12th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, corner of Fuller and Gordon Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C.
