Hertha Hein

Hein; Hertha Born April 11, 1915 in Blue Springs, BC. Hertha passed away at home in Port Alberni on August 26, 2006 at 91 years of age. Predeceased by her husband Charles in 1995 as well as sisters Gertrude, Vera and Ella and brothers Gerry and Egon. She is survived by one son Donald (Shirley) of Port Moody and one daughter Ellen (Cliff) Tingey of Port Alberni, sister Ann Vardon of Vernon, brother Oswald Ehret of Ashcroft as well as grandchildren: Kim Paul (Rick) and Karen Tardif (Larry) both of Port Alberni, Donna Moreau (Fabien) of St. Hyacinth, Quebec, Kathy Simmonds (Dave) and Karen Hein both of Port Coquitlam and great grandchildren: Brent and Derek Paul, Christine and Jamie Tardif and Alix and Danae Moreau. Hertha was born and spent the majority of her life in and around Vernon. It was here that she met and married Charles in 1934. In 1977 she moved to Port Alberni to be closer to her family. Hertha was an avid gardener, but first and foremost she was a wife, mother and grandmother. A private family gathering will be held in her honour. Following cremation, her cremated remains will be laid to rest beside her husband in Greenwood Cemetery.
