MRS. HILDA MARGARET EPP (NEE JANZEN), beloved Wife and Sweetheart of Frank, loved and always respected by sons Rick, Randy and Russ. Maybe sometimes picked on by all four of her boys, they never lost sight of who was the driving force of the family. Hilda leaves behind three daughters-in-law; Brenda, Loretta and Tricia. She has eight grandchildren who she helped educate in card games and the art of scaring people. Jesse, Amy, Blake, Travis, Dustin, Clinton, Morgan and Dayna were all dearly loved by Grandma. Hilda was born at the family farm in Namaka, Alberta on February 25th, 1934, the daughter of Maria & Nikolai Janzen. After spending her first nineteen years on the farm, she was swept away from the Janzens by Frank on October 18th, 1953. Hilda & Frank were looking forward to celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year. Hilda had her children in Calgary and raised them there in the family home in Haysboro. In 1999 Hilda & Frank left the family home in Calgary and moved into a beautiful home in Vernon, B.C. with their son Russ and his family. Hilda & Frank were on vacation in Alberta visiting family and friends when she experienced more health problems. Hilda’s sons from Oregon and British Columbia were able to hold hands with her and Frank thanks to the Foothills Medical Center in Calgary. Hilda passed away peacefully in Foothills Medical Center on Friday, August 1st, 2003. Thanks to the Foothills Hospital Units 112 and 111 for their extraordinary treatment of both Hilda and her family.
