Hillma Ellenora Lundman
August 10, 1918 – June 3, 2011
Hillma Ellenora Lundman passed peacefully into the Lord’s presence on Friday morning, June 3rd at Heritage Square. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Hillma was born at home in Hilltop, Man. in 1918, and was the middle child of 5 children. After growing up there she moved to Flin Flon, Man. where she married her sweetheart Arthur Lundman in 1940. They lived there till 1945 when they took the adventurous move to Enderby, B.C. with their first two children Irwin & Alvina. Their third child Birk was born there. Art was a carpenter so he built homes and they began a building supply company and hardware, Enderby Lumber Co. Ltd. and Lundman’s Hardware which they ran till selling in 1975. Hillma loved her family and was always so interested in knowing their happenings all through the years till her passing. She was very active in her church which continued to be a real encouragement to her, since Art’s passing in 1980. Mum loved her flower garden and was always so grateful for those who would help her keep it up, as she struggled with arthritis for many years. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin by the lake, taking bus tours, and travelling to visit family, always loving to see and learn new things. Mum loved knitting, reading and listened to 100’s of books on tape after her eyesight failed. She was a very determined and positive lady having gone through many health issues and never did we hear any complaining. Hillma moved to Heritage Square in Vernon in Dec. 2004 where she was very happy and content till her passing.
Hillma was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and a brother. She will be greatly missed by her children Irwin (Ernestine) Lundman of Spruce Grove, AB., Alvina (George) Halvorson of Vernon, and Birk (Cheryl) of Enderby, eight Grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren (with one more due any day), brother John (Lyn) Korberg of Vernon, and many extended family members and dear friends. Hillma’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Lemiski, and to the staff at Heritage Square for the gentle and wonderful care given Mum during her 6+ years there.
A Celebration of Hillma’s life will be held at Enderby Evangelical Chapel, in Enderby at 1pm on Friday, June 10, preceded by a private family graveside service at Cliffview Cemetery.
