Hugh passed away peacefully at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Friday September 21, 2018. Predeceased by his wife Elsie in 2014. Hugh was born on September 11,1924 in Viking, Alberta.

Hugh served with the Algonquin Regiment in the Second World War as a front line soldier. He married Elsie Lyons in 1948 in Edmonton, Alberta where he worked and raised his family until his retirement. In 1985 he moved to Vernon, BC and was involved in community service. Hugh served as an officer with the Navy League Cadets and the Executive Committee for the Royal Canadian Legion. Hugh was also an active member of All Saints Anglican Church for many years.

He will always be remembered by his children Bill Rayment (Caroline), Lynda Jones (Don), Judy Rayment (Jack Tait), Donna Ouellette, Caroline Gabert (Warren) and Patricia Warrack (Glen), 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their kindness in his last days.

Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm at All Saints Anglican Church, 3205 27 Street, Vernon, BC.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.
