Ian Hamilton Davidson

November 26th, 1945 – March 1st, 2013

Our much loved brother, uncle and best friend Ian Davidson passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2013 at the age of 67 years.

Ian will be lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Sheila (Hugh) Statham and Joni Davidson; three half-brothers, Bryan (Donna) Davidson, Robert Davidson and Brent Davidson; two nephews, Grant Statham and Craig Statham; two great-nephews, Ryan Statham and Jack Statham; cousins and extended family members; and his best friend and her family, Audrey (Allan) Derkach, Sierra and Austin. He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Davidson and his mother, Doreen Davidson.

Ian was born and raised in Vernon, B.C. and worked as a Brakeman for CN Rail in the Robson/Albreda subdivision for two years before a car accident changed his life forever at the age of 22. Despite being in a wheelchair for the remaining 45 years of his life, Ian maintained an incredibly positive outlook on life, always enjoying a good laugh. He loved people and his colourful stories and hilarious imitations were legendary, along with his twisted sense of humor that sometimes drew cringes from his sisters.

Cremation has preceded a Celebration Of Ian’s Life which will be held at the Paddlewheel Park Hall, 7813 Okanagan Landing Road, on Saturday, March 30th, 2013 at 1:00 P.M.

Ian loved animals and formed close bonds with several cats and dogs in his life. Those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of him to the Vernon SPCA, 4800 Haney Road, Vernon, B.C. V1H 1P6.
