TUBMAN

1924 – 2008

We regret to announce the passing of Garth Tubman

on Monday, September 8, 2008, at the Vernon Jubilee

Hospital. Garth was born on February 23, 1924 at

Sintaluta, SK, and has been in the Vernon area for the

past 60 years. He served in the RCAF during WWII as

a rear gunner. Garth will be lovingly remembered by

his wife of 62 years, Evelyn of Vernon; 5 children, Gayle

(Bob) Carson of Falkland, Mark Tubman of Vernon,

Shaun (Colin) Halliday of Penticton, Michele (Curtis)

Strong of Saanichton, and Aaron Tubman of Calgary;

5 grandchildren, Nancy (Bruce), Keith (Karin), Jay,

Evan and Clayton; 2 great grandchildren, Taylor and

Hayden; one brother Kent (Dona); nieces, nephews,

and extended family. He was recently predeceased by

his sister, NeTanys. In respecting Garth’s wishes, there

will be no funeral service. In lieu of fl owers, donations

to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 202 – 3402 – 27

Ave., Vernon V1T 1S1 or the Kidney Foundation, 320 –

1600 West 6th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6J 9Z9 would
