Irene Isabel Inglis of Lumby, passed away peacefully May 18, 2003 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born on Feb. 9, 1936 in Mazenod, Sask. She attended school in Carrot River Sask. After finishing school she worked in Regina Sask. and the moved to BC where she lived in Vancouver and then moved to Quesnel. She moved to Vernon where she met and married Marsden Inglis of Lumby in 1963. Irene resided in Lumby on the Inglis farm for the remainder of her life. Irene was predeceased by her father, Ted Gerock, her mother, Rose Commet, her husband Marsden Inglis, her brothers Ted, Ira and Al and her sister Mary. She is survived by sons Rob (Cherry) of McLure, BC, Rick (Laura) of Riverside, California, daughter Sandra (Hubert) Quibell of Lumby; grandchildren Shae (Nicole), Angela (Jason), Jennifer (John), Michael (Amber), Tammy (Ryan), Curtis, Cassandra, Alex, Damiano, two great grandchildren; Ashlee and Alexxis, brothers Ralph (Marg) of Regina Sask., Harvey (Sky) of Yuma, Arizona, sister Ruby (Fred), of Burnaby, BC, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Celebration of Life Memorial Service was held on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the St. James The Less Anglican Church in Lumby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the cardio and respiratory department of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, 2101-32 Street, Vernon, BC V1T 9Z9. Arrangements were entrusted to Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 250-542-4333.
