Irene Louise Kirshfelt passed away suddenly at her resident near Mara BC on Wednesday September 21, 2005 at the age of 75 years, a life long resident of Mara. Born there on June 16, 1930 and attended Mara School, Enderby High School, then UBC for two years where she studied sciences. She returned to care for her mother and manage the family farm in 1953 until her passing. Irene was dedicated to her family both in Canada and Estoinia, She took great pleasure in bringing the young and old relatives together from both countries and never tired of being the translator. Irene loved her family, farming, gardening, reading, the river and was an active member in Mara Community Activities for 50 years.
She leaves her loving family, brother Arnold Kirshfelt, Mara, sister Ellen Carver, nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews, Karen (Wayne) Huls, Kamloops; Morgan and Troy; DeeDee (Bart) Jones; Candance, Donavin, Elliot, Faybrien; Enderby; Debbie Kirshfelt (Brian), Kamloops; Tanya, Dolena (Shaun), Navi and Sienna; Nancy Kirshfelt, Victoria; Ashley, Savanna, Courtney and Riley; extended family and many friends. Predeceased by parents, nephew, Brian Kirshfelt and great nephew, Trent Huls.
Funeral Service will be held at the Mara Community Church, on Monday, September 26, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Reverend Ken Jones officiating. Interment in Mara Cemetery. Tea will be served at the Mara Community Hall after the graveside service all are welcome.
