On June 15th, 2014, Isobel Veitch, long time resident of Vernon, passed away at 81 years of age.
Isobel was predeceased by her husband Walter in 2006.
Isobel is survived by her son Ian (Teresa) of Vernon and her daughter Marjorie Fleming (Colin) of Kamloops, as well as her 4 grandsons, Wesley (Tonya), Jeremy, Tyson, and Brett. She is also survived by her sister Marjorie Martin and Innes McLean, both of Scotland, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Isobel and Walter immigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1957. They resided in Lavington, BC for their first years before finally settling in Vernon. They owned and operated Courtesy Motors of Vernon until 1995. Isobel also proudly worked for the Vernon RCMP for many years, until her retirement in 1993.
The family would like to thank the staff at Polson North Extended Care for all their compassionate care, and to all her good friends that supported her the last year.
Should friends desire, donations may be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date to be determined.
