BROWN

Mr. Jacob (Jake) Brown, a long time resident of the Lumby and Vernon area, passed into the presence of his Lord on Friday, March 30th, 2007 at the age of 84 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Selma, to whom he was married for 55 years, his children; Kenneth (Rose) Brown of Duncan, B.C., Barbara Carson, Glen Brown, Natashia McEwan and Jane Sanderson, all of Vernon, B.C., twelve grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, two brothers; Dan Brown and Bill Brown, both of Vernon, B.C., numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by three brothers; Otto, John and Sam and four sisters; Lydia Schwartz, Esther Wolgram, Matilda Fuhr and Mary Brown. Jake served overseas during WWII and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #25. His greatest joy in life was the years spent on the family farm on Mabel Lake Road in Lumby. That farm for him was his “chunk of Heaven on earth.” The Funeral Service will be held at The Church Of God, 4312-25th Street, on Thursday, April 5th, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Art Lange officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Jake to the B.C.
