In Loving Memory ~
We sadly announce that Jim passed away peacefully at Noric House at the young age of 72.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his brother Ken (Glenda), sisters Margaret and Arlene, Aunts Alma Butters and Maureen Webber, both of Quesnel. Ken's children Ross & Amanda, Marg's children Kelly, Janice (Rob) and James, Arlene's children Greg (Cecelia) and Katelyn (Jacob), sister Jeanette's children Elaine (Russ), Little Tony and Sjann (John) and extended family members.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Jim and Lila and his sister Jeanette Terry.
As a teenager, Jim was brilliant, athletic, popular and seen by his peers as most likely to succeed. His dream was to attend university and become a zoologist. After the sudden death of our father, at age 16 Jim was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. A mental health illness that stole his dreams and challenged him throughout his life.
Jim's passion was drawing, painting, and calligraphy. His paintings were shown at a local coffee shop and many Mental Health exhibits. He loved Vernon hockey and often spoke of his memories with the teams.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Noric House for their loving care of Jim over the last three and a half years and Dr Pritchett, his family Dr. Also thank you to the Baha'i community as Jim was a member most of his adult life where he had many close friends who cared deeply for him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Mental HealthAssociation in Vernon through their website, cmhavernon.ca
As per Jim's wishes, a Baha'i burial service will be held at the graveside of Vernon's Pleasant Valley Cemetery July 8th at 11:00am, no other service to follow. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
