September 26, 1932 - June 22, 2018
With heavy hearts The Gibson Clan announces the passing of James Boyd Gibson on June 22, 2018 at the young age of 87. Jim was born September 26, 1932 in Wayburn, Saskatchewan to David Walker Gibson & Hazel Alice Gubbe.

In 1950 at 18 years old Jim joined the Canadian arm Forces and fought in WW2 as an armoury technician. In November 1956 he married Jean Eileen Mott at 21 years old in Burnaby, BC.

He loved to box and won the Golden Gloves in the Walter Weight division in BC. He spent a short time serving with the Vancouver City Police department as well as a Parole officer in Prince George, BC.

Jim was a scholar, a gentlemen and entrepreneur. In 1979 he invested in a resort called Bednesti, which he and his family ran for 14 years. Jim and his loving wife Jean, later retired to the Okanagan in 1996 and then to Vernon, his final resting place.

He leaves behind his loving wife Jean, together for 61 years, and his 4 children Robert, Douglas, Stuart and Kathleen. His 8 Grand kids Dillion, Douglas, Deon, James, Cortinal, Les, Jason and Sarah, along with 2 great grand-kids Payden & Adelia.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley rd. in Vernon, Saturday July 7, 2018 at 11 am.

Please join us in remembering an amazing man. In lieu of flowers those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Jim may do so to the Salvation Army.
