James Murray Fletcher February 10th, 1921 – September 27th, 2003
James Murray Fletcher passed away at the Hospice House on Saturday, September 27th, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Born in Drumheller, AB. Jim was predeceased by his parents Erland & Amy Fletcher, one elder sister Margaret, his first wife Audrey (Hawkes) and second wife Gladys (Woods). Jim will be thoroughly missed by his loving wife Freda, his sister Loree and brother-in-law, Bill Adam of High River, AB, two nephews David and Jamie of Calgary, AB. Freda’s family consists of daughter Irene (David) of Moosomin, SK, Lillian (Allan) of Nelson, BC, son Ernie (Sylvia) of Calgary, AB, daughter Marion (Vaughn) of Spruce Grove, AB, other family members include Marilyn Weir of Penhold, AB and Henrich Restau of Germany, there are numerous grandchildren and one great grandson of Tennessee. After completing High School in Nelson, BC, Jim joined the RCAF, he took his training in Canada and served in Great Britain as a Mosquito Pilot until the end of hostilities. Jim settled in Calgary and was a partner in a customs brokerage firm until his retirement. Jim and Freda were married in Calgary on January 27th, 1979 and subsequently moved to Vernon where they resided until his death. At Jim’s request there will be no funeral service. Cremation. In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make memorial donations in Jim’s name to the Vernon & District Hospice House 3506 27th Ave., Vernon, BC V1T 1S4.
