JAMES D. “JIM” passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at the age of 73 years. Survived by his loving wife Dianne of 47 years, son Stan (Debbie) Walker of Vancouver, two daughters Lisa (Dave) Stephenson and their children Ashley and Nicholas of Kelowna, and Cindy (Jeff) Blackmore and their daughter Amanda of Port Coquitlam, brothers Frank (Joyce) and Stan (Hazel) and numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly predeceased by his brother Bob and sister Marge. Jim enjoyed life to the fullest with Dianne. Together they motorhomed coast to coast throughout the U.S. and Canada. Jim was very active, enjoying golfing, curling, biking and hiking. He made many close friends through these activities. Many of the curling relationships evolved into an annual father & son golf tournament. The father & son group just returned from Myrtle Beach where they golfed and celebrated their 10th annual. Jim was especially proud that he brought back the low net father trophy. Jim was an avid cook and wine maker and enjoyed a good toast. So here’s a toast to Jim…..a great guy, so giving and generous to family and friends. We love you. A private family service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society: 1633 Pandosy St., Kelowna, BC, V1Y 1P6, or the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation: 201-1456 St. Paul St., Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2E6.
