We regret to announce the death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on February 14, 2008, of James Black Torrance, at the age of 66 years. Jim was a longtime resident of North Vancouver prior to moving to the Vernon area six years ago. An active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, he was a former Provincial President of the Order. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Carol; daughters Kim (Scott) Richards of Westbank and Tammy Parker in Australia; sons John in Australia and David (Amber) of Delta; 10 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Jim is also survived by brother, Ian (Bev) of 100 Mile House and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Sunday, February 17, at 3:00 P.M., in the Eagles Hall, 5101 – 25 Ave., Vernon. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Jim to the B.C. Lung Association, Box 34009, Stn. D., Vancouver, V6J 4M2.
