MR. JAN MAZEREEUW was called Home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 25th, 2003 at the age of 83 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dina and their children; Jenny (Dave) Katzel, Annie (Ron) Nielsen, Henny (George) Kettering, Jannette (Harry) Bradbury, Pieter (Lori) Mazereeuw, Frieda Sirges, Jack (Janet) Mazereeuw, Pamela (Mark) Wall, Craig (Sadie) Mazereeuw and Kathy (Larry) Redmond, 26 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, his brothers; Dirk Mazereeuw, Jaap (Bertha) Mazereeuw, Sjoerd Mazereeuw, his sisters-in-law; Rein Mazereeuw-Zwaan, Gré Mazereeuw-van Leeuwen, Lisa Beumer-Galesloot and Cecilia Mazereeuw-Appelman, his brothers-in-law; Chris Compas, Jan Piet (Trien) Compas, Gerard (Bertha) Compas and Dick Compas, numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, eight brothers and his first wife, Martje in 1956. Jan was born in Opperdoes, Holland on February 17th, 1920 and immigrated to Canada in 1957. He married Dina Compas in May, 1958 in Langley, B.C. and moved to Vernon in 1973 where he operated the Rainbow Lodge until retiring in 1988. Cremation preceded the Memorial Service which will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 29th, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Dr. Ed Millin officiating.
