June 4, 1929 - January 4, 2019
Jaroslav (Jerry) Haber was born June 4, 1929 in Riley, Alberta. As a young child, he moved to Vernon, eventually choosing to stay raise his family in the community he loved. While supporting his young family, he worked as a parts manager and continued to study in order to pursue his true passion, teaching. He was a talented "project man" and had a fearless approach to life. He took pride in finding creative solutions and loved to dream. Jerry was very involved in his community and volunteered as a firefighter, member of the Knights of Columbus and member of the Kinsmen Club. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed being outdoors and loved to golf and spend time at his retreat at the lake. He had a true, deep love for his wife Alice, and his family. Jerry is survived by his soul mate and wife of 68 years, Alice, daughters Barb Kindrachuk (Gene), Joni Kuly (John), son David Haber (Darlene), seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jerry is predeceased by his father Anton, mother Mary, sister and two brothers. A celebration of Jerry's life will be held in the spring of 2019. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation in Jerry's name.
