MR. JAROSLAV SIMON died on Friday, February 27th, 2004 of Parkinson’s Disease, leaving behind his wife Alice, daughter, Alena and her husband, Danny Martai, son, Jaromir and his wife, Bernadette, nieces and nephew. He was born near Prague, Czechoslovakia on July 18th, 1922, met and later married Alice on August 31st, 1946. He immigrated to Canada in 1968 and his family settled in Calgary, Alberta. Jaroslav worked as a machinist with CPR until his retirement in 1985, then moving to Vernon, B.C. He was an avid reader and a good chess player. He loved nature, music and poetry. He was a good husband and a loving father and will be missed for his good sense of humour and warm smile. Cremation preceded the Memorial Service which will be held at the West Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Friday, March 5th, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with Mr. Dave Sanderson officiating.
