Smith, Jason

Beloved son of Sharon & Noel, brother & comrade to Ryan, passed away after a brief illness at Kelowna General Hospital on August 21, 2007.

Born on February 11, 1977 in Vernon, BC, Jason was a kind and gentle soul who excelled in artwork, poetry and writing at a very early age. Besides the love for his family, the love of pencil to paper to create wonderful mementos for many and for personal satisfaction was a close second. Never was a birthday card received from the Smiths without a little drawing from Jason on the inside. He has recently been commissioned to provide artwork for DC Shoes.

This gentle giant will be forever remembered as a person who never uttered a harsh word about anyone. His quirky little smile let you know when you had squarely hit his sense of humor. Jason is survived by his parents, Sharon & Noel, brother, Ryan, family friend Kelly, Uncles & Aunts: Larry & Sue Smith, Deborah Ryall, Darrell Jensen and Alan & Rose Jensen, numerous cousins and friends.

He is predeceased by grandparents, Helen & Slim Jensen and Burnetta & Malcolm Smith.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at the Army & Navy Hall, 2500 – 46th Ave, Vernon (behind Pizza Hut) at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation for hospital equipment.
