With great sadness we announce Jeanette’s passing, on December 27, 2016 surrounded by family, while in the loving and professional care of the Gateby Care Center, Vernon. Jeanette was born October 2, 1936 in Vancouver. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Lily Hull and brother Douglas. Jeanette is survived by a twin sister Joan Bailey of Washington State. She is also survived by her husband of 41 years, John “Ozzie” Cochrane of Vernon; step-daughter Cheri Emmerson (Gary) of Abbotsford; step-sons Alan (Kari) Cochrane, and Gordon (Laura) Cochrane of Victoria, step-grandchildren Jordan (Meggan) Emmerson, Taylor Emmerson and Riley (Jennifer) Emmerson, all of Abbotsford; Logan (Hikmet) Cochrane of Ottawa; Brianna (Andrew) McGarvey of Victoria; Arareso, Payton and Caden Cochrane of Victoria; Holly Cochrane of Summerland; and Eric Cochrane of Victoria. Step-great grandchildren Nusayabah, Safiyyah and Adam of Ottawa, Liam Emmerson and Kaelen Emmerson of Abbotsford.
Jeanette was also predeceased by her first husband John Matthews of Burnaby and survived by a son, John (Catherine) Matthews of Kelowna, and a daughter Jennifer (Ron) Sargeant of Surrey; three grandsons Luke (Jill) Matthews of Abbotsford, Jessie and Caleb Matthews of Kelowna; and granddaughter Chanel Sargeant of Whistler, in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with Jeanette’s wishes there will be no service. A Celebration of Life is planned for the summer of 2017.
