It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Jeannette Ruth Neufield on January 24, 2010 at Vernon Hospice.
Jeannette was born in Vernon, B.C. on May 28, 1950. She lived most of her life here but had spent some time on Cortez Island ranching, wrangling and in construction.
She had an unwavering passion for gardening on the “homestead” in her beloved B.X., listening to CBC on her Grundig radio and reading anything in print.
In spite of many physical ailments, Jeannette lived her life with utmost grace, humility and strength and with a wonderful sense of humour.
She had boundless faith in her fellow humans but could not abide liars or cheats.
Jeannette was predeceased by her dad William (Bill) and by her brother Billy.
She will be forever cherished, missed and loved by her mom Ruth, sister Maria (Mike), brothers Byron & Lee and her “other sister” Donna (Ducky) as well as nieces Katherine & Laura, nephew Robert and great nephew Liam.
By Jeannette’s request, after cremation, there will be no funeral service.
The family wishes to thank every person at Hospice that connected with Jeannette and gave her such loving, compassionate care.
