TURNER
JENNIE ALBERTHA TURNER (nee Harriott), beloved wife of fifty years of Jack Turner, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2003, at Shuswap Lake Hospital, Salmon Arm, after a courageous struggle. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by: her two sons John (Joan), Lance all of Ashton Creek; three daughters, Colleen (Norman) Trueman of Campbell River, Cindy (Richard) Hannah of Enderby, Terry (Roy) Hannah, Armstrong. She is also survived by: eleven grandchildren, Amber and Alissa Turner; Kailis Turner, Sean, Patrick and Nick Trueman; Alan Garland; Cody and Jolene Hannah; Charmane and Tian Hannah; six great-grandchildren; one brother Robert Harriott, Vancouver; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Edith, and one infant daughter, Kathleen. Jennie was born Wednesday, October 31, 1934, in Barnes Crossing, Saskatchewan (Meadows Lake area). She met Jack, the love of her life and married him in June, 1953. With nothing but love to live on, Jack and Jennie set off to homestead a 960 acre ranch at Mammette Lake, B.C. There they not only ran a beef ranch, but they also experimented raising turkeys and running a fishing camp. Always looking for new adventures, Jack and Jennie left the Merritt Country and moved to the “34 Ranch” at Mabel Lake where they worked their dairy farm until they decided to “semi-retire”, selling the ranch and purchasing the Ashton Creek Store. Jennie loved her family and spent many happy hours with them. A Celebration of Jennie’s Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Ashton Creek Hall, with the Mr. George Rands officiating. Cremation.
