Jerry Kernaghan, 67, of Vernon, BC, passed away unexpectedly on June 28th, 2023. Jerry was born to Ralph and Marilyn Kernaghan in Edmonton but spent most of his early years in Salmon Arm. After high school, Jerry attended Selkirk College in Castlegar and completed a program in wildland recreation. Jerry got married and moved to Armstrong, where he had two children, Lindsay and Luke. Jerry started working with BC Provincial Parks, then spent most of his career working at Vernon Jubilee Hospital in various departments. He later moved to Vernon, where he spent the remainder of his life. Jerry loved the outdoors and spending time in nature, especially camping and exploring old historical sites around the province. He also enjoyed judo and competed in both the BC Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Jerry was predeceased by both his parents, Marilyn and Ralph. Jerry is survived by his children Lindsay and Luke, as well as his Siblings: Casey, Jennifer, Sharon, Shaun, and many extended family members. A private celebration of life for his family members will be held later this summer.
