November 10, 1949 - March 6, 2019
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Jit Singh Mann on March 6, 2019 in Vernon, BC. Jit immigrated to Canada in November 1971, he quickly fell in love with the Okanagan Valley and started working for Tolko Industries in Armstrong for 45 years. Jit was a pioneer in the Sikh community in helping families set up roots in Vernon. Jit had a lively personality, he loved socializing, music, and his home was a welcoming haven for friends and family. Jit had a passion for photography and gardening, and he had a gift for sharing stories.
Jit took great pride in his family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Darshan Kaur Mann; his children, Naveen Thind (Raj), Davinder Mann (Harj), Jatinder Mann (Jas), and his niece who he raised like a daughter, Binder Hothi (Raju). Jit also leaves behind his 5 grandchildren, Camryn, Jacob, Nikheil, Sienna, and Ryla.
There will be a Funeral Service held for Jit at 11 am on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services (2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong, BC).
