Joel “Joey” Lynn Whitmore passed away July 6, 2016 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital after a short illness in her 82nd year of life. Joey was born December 26, 1934 in Ottawa, a daughter to Joseph and Ethel Whitmore.
Joel is survived by sisters, Jill (Frank) Alder and Michelle (Allen) Vandeen; brother, Robert (Irene) Whitmore; along with many nieces and nephews. Joel was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ethel Whitmore and her brother, Andrew.
Joel was interred at Grindrod Cemetery on July 12, 2016.
She was a great Samaritan, teacher, principle, friend to animals and neighbor. Loved by so many. Rest in peace dear friend.
A tea in honor of Joey will be held at Grindrod Recreation Center, August 28, 2016, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM.
