Johanna “Dolly” Ingram

April 18, 1922 – May 25 2009

It is with great sadness the family announces that Dolly passed away peacefully at Gateby House on Monday May 25, 2009 at the age of 87.

Predeceased by one son Charles in 1953 and husband Vince in 1994.

Dolly is survived by son David (Maureen), daughter Barbara (Jim Morris), son Wayne (Donna), 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister Muriel of Drumheller AB and brother Ralph of Regina SK plus numerous nieces and nephews.

After a medical discharge from the RCAF Dolly met and married Vince Nov 28, 1946 in Lloydminster SK. For their honeymoon the newlyweds drove to BC where they settled for a short time in Mission. In 1947 they moved to Pinitan, NE of Kamloops, where they ran a sawmill. In 1953 they moved to Vernon where they spent the rest of their lives.

Dolly served as a dedicated member of the Royal Purple for 55 years. She was a Past Honoured Royal Lady, served several times as drill team captain and worked countless hours with catering functions at the Elks Hall.

Memorial service to be held at 11 am on Saturday June 13, 2009 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home with reception to follow in the Tea Room. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Royal Purple Lodge 123, c/o secretary Elaine Offer, 7432 L&A Rd, Vernon, BC V1B 3S4
