John Tim Alexis
With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of John Tim Alexis age 78 years, on March 14, 2013 at Polson Residential Care Unit, Vernon, B.C. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Tim will be forever remembered by his loving wife Mabel Alexis (nee Louis) and his children: Sheila (Maurice) Evans of Fort Smith, NWT, Homer (Denise) Alexis, Nancy (Jeff) Eustache, Ruby Alexis (Elidio), Rose Alexis, and Jonathan (Jeanette) Alexis. He is also survived by his siblings Susan (Fred) Hall, and Arnold Alexis and many nieces and nephews.
Tim was born to John and Ella Alexis (nee Cameron) on Oct. 16, 1934. He was the fifth child of eleven children. He is predeceased by his parents, and his youngest son, Jason Alexis, and siblings Henry (Hank) Alexis, Lawrence (Graden) Alexis, Herbert (Banker) Alexis, Murray Alexis, Arrid Alexis, Elizabeth Alexis, Jesse Alexis and Cecile Stephenson (nee Alexis). Tim is a grandfather to numerous grandchildren who will miss him dearly, and he also is a great grandfather of two baby girls. The family would like thank Dr. Gilhooley and the staff at Polson Care Unit for their kindness and care.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on the Okanagan Indian reserve at Six Mile on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 with Father Vincent Asomugha officiating. Burial at Komasket Cemetery to follow and the Funeral Dinner will be at the New Horizons Elders Building at Six Mile Creek.
