John Allan Douglas Blackstock passed away peacefully at Vernon on Sunday, April 15, 2007. Aged 79 years. Al will be lovingly remembered by wife Reita of Armstrong; three sons Darryl of Armstrong, Loren of Ashton Creek and Steven (Lynda) of Enderby; one daughter Linda of Australia; seven grandchildren Shyla, Mandy, Wayne, Nia, Savana, Ali and Jennifer; two great-grandchildren; brother Stan of Savona; sisters Gloria Duffin of South Okanagan and Bernice Campbell of New Westminster; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by son Wayne, one sister and his parents. Born in New Westminster, Al lived at 100 Mile House from 1946 to 1980 when he moved to Armstrong. He and Reita were married at Clinton in 1957. A carpenter by trade, Al farmed and worked in the construction industry. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at the Armstrong Odd Fellows Hall. Arrangements in the care of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, Armstrong, 546-7237.
