It is with a heaviest of Hearts that the Family of John Devlin announce his sudden passing on August 13, 2021, in Vernon, BC at the age of 80. John was deeply loved as a Husband, Dad, Father-in-Law, Grandpa, Poppa, Great-Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend.
He will always be remembered as our “Rock”, our “Go to Guy” and one of the kindest and most helpful men.
John was born in Vancouver, BC on September 11, 1940, to Silvester and Marguerite Devlin, He was the 3rd of 8 children including 6 Sisters, Mary (Marcel), Arlene (Tony), Patricia (Fritz), June (Denny), Peggy (Dick), Sandra (Dave) and 1 Brother, James (Silvia).
He married the love of his life Patricia on December 14, 1963, and had 4 children, His son Johnny and three daughter’s Traci, Jodi and Lesa. John was a man of many talents but spent most of his career as a Machine Operator.
He retired in the Okanagan with his wife of 57 years, Patricia and continued to keep busy either tinkering in his garden and yard, doing home renovations with his girls, working with his son-in-laws or just always being a phone call away when anyone needed a helping hand, advice or just a listening ear.
Family was his greatest passion. John was a devoted husband and father who took great pride in the achievements of his children and grandchildren and was a source of strength for all of us. A “gentleman” in the truest sense, whose honesty, integrity, and warmth were felt whenever you were in his presence.
John was predeceased by his parents Silvester and Marguerite, his Sisters Mary and June and his Son John Earl Devlin.
