The family of JOHN ERIC PHILLIPS are deeply saddened to announce his sudden and truly unexpected passing on Sunday, June 26th, 2005. John was born on March 25th, 1952 in Fresno, California. He was well known in the community as a mason but especially for his artistic creations of his truly unique fireplaces. He was recently able to fulfill a life-long dream in going to Hawaii and working on more creative rock walls and fireplaces than he could ever dream of. John was an avid hunter, fisherman and an all around outdoors man. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Regula, his very best friend and travelling companion who now will mourn the life that they no longer will be able to share together. He leaves behind his family who will deeply miss him; his beloved mother-in-law; Emily (Willy), Julie (David) Koenig (Eric, Vanessa and Benjamin), Gina (Scott) Tiremann (Cody and Jake), David (Pat) Phillips (Thomas), Lisa (John) Appenzeller (Rebecca, Mel and Jessica), Jack (Elsbeth) Appenzeller (Judith and Régula), Gotti (Eva) Appenzeller (Maja), Kurt (Irene) Frey (Michael and Bettina), his close friends; Dieter & Tamara Burmeister, the many, many friends he made in his lifetime and Erin and Marc from Hawaii. He was predeceased by his brother Andy, his parents, Jack and Ruth and his nephew, Silvio. Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 2nd, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel.
