BERGUM, John Gordon

Peacefully in the evening of May 15, 2017, our father passed away at his residence in Pleasant Valley Manor, Armstrong, B.C. John was born in Sedgewick, Alberta; the 3rd youngest in a family of 13 children.

He is remembered with love by his 4 children: Murray (Elaine), Abbotsford, Diana Anderson (Glen), Vernon, Darlene Smithers (Dennis), Osoyoos, Debbie Tokei (Coleman), Richmond. John was a grandfather to 6 and a great grandfather to 7. John was predeceased by his wife, Helen Dow. He will be missed by his family.

John spent most of his life as a commercial fisherman in Vancouver. He was a war veteran, serving in the Royal Canadian Navy. In his retirement life he loved to travel, grow roses, gamble at the casinos, and fish the local lakes. His great love was music, which he was playing constantly in his room, unless there was a sporting event on T.V. He was a loyal Canuck fan.

The family wish to express their thanks to the staff at Pleasant Valley Manor for their outstanding care and support. They would often drop in to listen to his music or grab some of his candies.

The family will have a private memorial.
